Nyobeng is an annual Ceremony of the Bidayuh Dayak of Bengkayang Regency. The ceremony opens with ritual animal sacrifices to please the spirit and ancestors and accompanied by traditional music. The Pongo or Baluk is a central focus; it is wood construction six meter tall, with a diameter of eight meters, a thatched sago palm roof, is supported by 15 poles and hosted by 30 tribal members. The Pongo is used to house skull and the ceremony becomes more impressive over each subsequently day. Don't miss it!
